Three Other Locations

Tractors and equipment have been sent to three other locations than the SFC farms named above. These three locations are run by competent and proven administrators, well known to the sponsoring bodies. They are located at Mundri, Torit, and Liwolo.

These tractors, machinery and equipment for the three farms, by decision of the sponsoring bodies, are not under the management of the Board of Directors of the Savannah Farmers Cooperative, but have been entrusted with the use of these donated materials.

The fifty new farms projected for the future will be under the direct control of the Board of Directors of the Savannah Farmers Cooperative Company (SFC). No one owns the SFC. It exists for the purpose of feeding the people of southern Sudan, has no share capital, and the members of the Board of Directors, though all Government officials, serve in their capacity as private citizens. They receive no remuneration for their services.

This Board is made up of Ambassador Steven Wondu, chairman (formerly to the USA, the UN and Canada) now Ambassador to Japan. Dr. Samson Kwaje is Minister of Information, Broadcasting and Communications in the Government of Southern Sudan. (One of his degrees is in Plant Pathology). In a decision by the Board of Directors of the Savannah Farmers Cooperative Company, The Hon. Zamba Duku, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Central Equatoria has recently become a Board member.

The Deputy Chairman is Rev. Cal R. Bombay who is also President of Cal Bombay Ministries Inc. (A Federally Registered Charity in Canada).
